5 - 9 YEARS OLD
FRIDAY NIGHT
CRICKET BLAST!
Every summer, Gellibrand runs fun-filled Friday night Cricket Blast sessions for kids aged 5-9, led by experienced cricketers. There’s a sausage sizzle every week, the Gellibrand Raffle after every session and the canteen is open, making Fridays a hit for the whole family!
10-sessions over Summer (excluding Melbourne Cup weekend & school holidays)..
Sessions start at 5:30pm
and run for an hour.

Cricket For Everyone
junior
Gellibrand have several all-girls teams in different age groups, all with dedicated and experienced coaches.
Junior
Gellibrand were an early adopter of junior cricket and now have one of the most competitive junior boys programs in the west.
Senior
Gellibrand fielded its first senior women’s team in the 2019/20 season and continue to offer fun and social T20 cricket.

Gellibrand Cricket Club is based at Digman Reserve on Hobson Street in Newport and has some of the best on and off-field facilities in the Hobsons Bay area.
Our club offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a brand new pavilion, four well-maintained cricket grounds, and modern cricket nets.
Rebuilt and officially opened in 2022, the new pavilion is the ideal space for a club like Gellibrand to operate from with all the the mod-cons, including gender neutral change facilities, a full kitchen/canteen and a welcoming social space, it’s easily one of the best in the area.

Gellibrand has been a part of the Newport community for over 70 years! We’re a true local sporting club, with the vast majority of our members coming from the streets and suburbs surrounding the grounds.
Fun
Cricket can be competitive, but it’s all about fun! Gellibrand’s coaches and volunteers prioritise fun in all aspects of the club, fostering a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
TeamWork
Teamwork makes the dream work! At Gellibrand, we work towards common goals on and off the field. Teamwork has been a key factor in our success and growth.
As a parent, it has been so enjoyable over the past three years watching my son and his team build self-confidence, form friendships, and have fun—all while learning to bat and bowl. We’re truly fortunate to have such a great cricket club in our local area, run by genuinely caring people.
Joining this cricket club has been a fantastic experience! We work hard, but we also know how to have fun together.

It’s a club full of quality people and I would recommend it for anybody who wants to feel part of a community and have a game of cricket. I’ve been a senior player at the club since I was 17 years old and I am continually drawn back to the place by the people, the energy and the vibe. I still choose to make the one hour drive from Geelong each Saturday in the summer, to come and see mates and represent the club.
From the come and try day I attended, I was super excited to play for Gellibrand. The coaches of the U16 girls were supportive and helped me develop my cricket skills over the season, and the girls were fun to play with and great teammates. I am super excited to play again next season.
Gellibrand is a great and inclusive cricket club. They work with you on your skills and help you improve them. I love how I get to play with my mates and get experience training and playing with the seniors. I love being involved with the club by scoring for the seniors and helping around the club.
